Iv got a connection coming from the clutch side of the motor. It's just left of the alt and directly behind the starter motor. One male spade type connection on the end. Any ideas?

on the sprocket side there's only the neutral switch, a blue wire. Remove the sprocket cover and there should be a round black thing (approx. 3cm diameter) attached with two screws right below the output shaft.

this guy though :pimp:

ill post a pic up later lol it's a 1127 oil boiler. If definitely an electrical connection, I'm sure of that much :P

this guy though......are you sure you know though.....?

Just unwrapped some tape to try to trace it and it turns out it was the neutral light switch cable, which had been routed the long way round to near the oil drain pipes, for no apparent reason at all.

Next question is, how to get it working lol. Guessing this is the positive end and it just uses the crank case as its earth?

Pssst - the oil drains are at the front of the engine!

As Ben Slabby says but that is providing you havens got all the sidestand / clutch switch bollux still in circuit as this one runs through them to varying degrees

to 'save you from yourself' if your stupid or forgetful!

If you're such a fucktard you're not capable of remembering to kick the stand up before buggering off,  you should probably take up another hobby, like wanking or being a copper.

Not sure if that's aimed in any particular direction ? But pretty sure we've all ridden of with the stand down once or twice and / or tried to start in gear?

Not at anyone in particular. I'm sure we've all done it... Once. Or tried starting it in gear. Once.

If you can't form the habit of giving the stand a quick nudge to confirm or dipping the clutch before pressing the button, you're probably also the bloke who rides around merrily indicating left for the past ten miles with flat tyres. Its sloppy.  Just sayin. ;)
