Phill106 Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Iv got a connection coming from the clutch side of the motor. It's just left of the alt and directly behind the starter motor. One male spade type connection on the end. Any ideas? Quote
Gixer1460 Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 F**kin' hell Phil - try and at least give us a clue - what Bike, engine, colour of wire? We're not telepathic! 1 Quote
vizman Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 well after consulting my tea leafs you're getting the clutch side and the alternator side all kerfuffled Quote
vizman Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 I'm guessing it's an oil boiler...seen as though you've posted it here..... Quote
Phill106 Posted August 30, 2015 Author Posted August 30, 2015 oil pressure switch this guy though ill post a pic up later lol it's a 1127 oil boiler. If definitely an electrical connection, I'm sure of that much Quote
Captain Chaos Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 on the sprocket side there's only the neutral switch, a blue wire. Remove the sprocket cover and there should be a round black thing (approx. 3cm diameter) attached with two screws right below the output shaft. Quote

Phill106 Posted August 30, 2015 Author Posted August 30, 2015 Just unwrapped some tape to try to trace it and it turns out it was the neutral light switch cable, which had been routed the long way round to near the oil drain pipes, for no apparent reason at all. Next question is, how to get it working lol. Guessing this is the positive end and it just uses the crank case as its earth? Quote
Ben Slabby Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Yup. The lamp receives a positive feed from the loom and picks up its ground connection through the switch. Quote
Gixer1460 Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Pssst - the oil drains are at the front of the engine! As Ben Slabby says but that is providing you havens got all the sidestand / clutch switch bollux still in circuit as this one runs through them to varying degreesto 'save you from yourself' if your stupid or forgetful! Ben Slabby Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 (edited) If you're such a fucktard you're not capable of remembering to kick the stand up before buggering off, you should probably take up another hobby, like wanking or being a copper. Edited August 30, 2015 by Ben Slabby Quote
vizman Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 I think I'd keep the eejit lights/safety measures on dude....just for the time being eh? Quote

Not sure if that's aimed in any particular direction ? But pretty sure we've all ridden of with the stand down once or twice and / or tried to start in gear? Quote
Ben Slabby Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Not at anyone in particular. I'm sure we've all done it... Once. Or tried starting it in gear. Once.If you can't form the habit of giving the stand a quick nudge to confirm or dipping the clutch before pressing the button, you're probably also the bloke who rides around merrily indicating left for the past ten miles with flat tyres. Its sloppy. Just sayin. Quote
Ben Slabby Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Unless there are any furiously-fapping cops around who ride about with the stand down wondering what the noise and awful handling is every time they make a left? Quote
jamie k Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Take the stand off - job done just perch it against stuff 2 Quote
