davecara Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 1052 engine, BST36’s and pipercross pods. B12 headers and a baffled SP Eng can. Gsxr1100 standard coils, k1 B12 CDI running like a bag of shit below 4-5k drops a cylinder generally coughs and splutters. I’ve got a pair of good known coils on there from @Kid Kearsleyair screws 4.5 turns out and needles back on the middle clip. Any *helpful* suggestions? Not got chance to get it near a dyno as it’s going to the IOM tomorrow Quote
Swirl Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 What time ye going the iom, I've a brand new set of 3ohm dyna coils, and Taylor leads at home, which you can borrow but I'm not home till 4.30 to tomorrow Quote
clivegto Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 4 1/2 turns out sounds like a lot did my last ones at 2 1/2turns out. 5 Quote
wraith Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 +1 with @clivegto4.5 turns out is a lot, had the gsxr750 38mm at just over 3 turns out on the 1127 motor, I'd say try it at 2.5 turns, see how it runs, then drop the needle by one clip. Quote
davecara Posted May 28, 2018 Author Posted May 28, 2018 Got it sorted now I think, still a little rich but pulls cleanly from idle up to around 9k. 130 mains, needles on the second clip from top and I’ve left the air screws about 4 turns out. It’ll get me round the island for a week and then i’ll do a couple of plug chops when I get back and look to lean it out a touch 1 Quote
bluedog59 Posted May 29, 2018 Posted May 29, 2018 With that many turns out on the air screws I be looking at a size or two bigger on the pilot jets. Have you set your float heights ? I've found Bandit carbs to be very fussy about them. Quote
