Swiss Toni Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 Has anyone who's fitted an oil boiler to Aircooled frame ( in my case, Teapot1100 to 1100ET/EX frame), also used the Oilcooled harness, and fitted the std. ET/EX clocks? If so, did you get everything working as it should? Quote
Captain Chaos Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 (edited) I have a Powerscreen engine in the EFE, with Slingy 750 loom, and EFE clocks. I got the tacho, fuel level, gear position, and the idiot lights (Neutral, Left turn, Right turn, Oil P, High beam) working. I could also get the sidestand light working but there's no sidestand switch on my bike. ET/EX has a mechanical tacho so you will not get that working with an oilcooled lump. ED (1983) and newer has an electronic tacho IIRC. Edited June 5, 2017 by Captain Chaos Quote
Gixer1460 Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 I had an Oil boiler in a Kwak Z1000 frame with GSXR wiring and Kwak switchgear - everything worked and nothing melted - anything is possible! Quote
Duckndive Posted June 5, 2017 Posted June 5, 2017 I have done efe clocks on a oil boiler loom before ..got it all to work just a matter of having both wiring diagrams to hand and some patience ......"TBH" I would not do it again as all the joints with wire colour changes where a pain hence on me turbo I used the entire oil boiler set up loom clocks switch's etc....much easier "when" if u have a fault.............. Swiss Toni Posted June 5, 2017 Author Posted June 5, 2017 Thanks for that, lads! I thought it wouldn't be easy. I forgot about the tach being gear driven! But...it's not an ET without the tail, headlamp...and clocks! What would 'Fattie' be without that huge headlight??? Quote
