Swirl Posted July 3, 2017 Author Posted July 3, 2017 How do you measure the fittings to get the right braided pipe to fit the exsisting fittings Quote
SiBag Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 The hose fittings are all based off UNF thread sizes in 1/16" size increments. i.e. AN3 = 3/16 AN4 = 4/16 or 1/4" AN8 = 8/16 or 1/4" Etc etc. The "AN" "-" and "JIS" are all basically the same size. Just depends what navy you work for. Quote
Swirl Posted July 4, 2017 Author Posted July 4, 2017 So do i measure the id of the pipe which would be the same as the od of the fitting, or is it the id of the fitting, i have the fittings and short pipes have moved the oil cooler Quote
SiBag Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 The od thread of the fitting will give you the size. not sure of the size of the pipe in relation to the fitting. Nominal size is the same as the fitting. Quote
