Swiss Toni Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 Was going to paint my '85 model Blue/White. Not so sure now. That Black/Red combo looks really nice! Respect for hanging onto it for so long. There's a good few I've sold over the years, for no other reason than to create space! Big mistake! Quote

So many people that you meet look at your bike and say " I used to have one of them, I wish I had kept it" I nod and smile politely but inside I'm thinking: Shouldn't have sold it then nah nah nananah, you sold a keeper. In this case it's clear from he pictures that man and machine have bonded well and a lifetime of tweaks and modifications have resulted in a true weapon of choice. The mighty hammer of Hanma- Shin salutes you both. Yeah anyone can buy a brand new vehicle and keep it for years untouched. Making it MINE and making it work and perform how I want is what makes any vehicle worthy of note - and jelousy. After all, racers modify their bikes on every outing to achieve these goals - and to win lol. Edited October 21, 2016 by Iced Lightning 4 Quote
Fire3500 Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 There's a lad in Brigg in Lincs with an '86 on a C plate in blue and white that he's had since new, not the same tenure as you and yours but says a bunch about how people feel about their GSX-Rs... Quote
Iced Lightning Posted October 23, 2016 Author Posted October 23, 2016 Last time I was in the IOM about '87 I had to go to court for, would you believe, speeding? Moi? Anyway about 70% of the other there for the same were on - GSXR's! What does that tell you, apart from that maybe we weren't going fast enough? Quote
cregnybaa Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 I have owned this 1100 since 1988 and have always used it as a race bike. this picture was taken at the jurby south road race 2007, I was about to win the forgotten era race when the photo was taken. 4 Quote
bernardo Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 I have my 750 since Christmas 89 it's an F on a C plate. It's done a lot of miles and is very tired now. My next project is a ground up rebuild. I was tempted to drop in an 11 or 12. But I think I'll rebuild the motor, could be the expensive option. Quote
Sam-Jaffa Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Awesome, great to see it still being used for what it was intended for aswell Quote

Probably would have gone even quicker without that lamppost on your back 2 Quote
