Jonny
Hi there, I know this has been done before but how can I tell a GSXR1100L frame from an M one? I'm looking to build my L onto a new frame and have been offered a '91 frame but don't know if it's an L or an M. The frame numbers don't seem to make a difference? Thanks, Jonny Quote Link to comment
george 1100
Exactly the same I'd say Quote Link to comment
Captain Chaos
M/N rear part (where the seats and sidepanels go) is wider. Measure your L frame and compare with the new one and you'll know. Quote Link to comment
Ragerover
Like the man says. Also the panel fixing lugs are different for rear hump Quote Link to comment

I was hoping to be able to swap everything across and keep it looking standard. Quote Link to comment
Captain Chaos
Yes. As in unlikely to fit. Quote Link to comment
fatblokeonbandit
Did this years ago, had an L with terrible welsh paint job!! swooped it for m/n seat panels and tank, needed to make some brackets for the grab rails and use the small subframe that holds the lights and panels at the back from the M as well.. Captain Chaos
Yes the L frame with M/N panels and seat is possible, but the other way round will not fit. M/N frame is too wide for the L bodywork and seats. Quote Link to comment
