Neill666 Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Hi folks might be a daft question but I Had the carbs Mikuni 40's off my Gsxr motor last night and noticed the carb tops have number and letter combinations Mines have 3 tops with C1 on them and one has B1 I take it there is a reason for this but not sure what and does the B1 top need to be in a certain position as it seems to restrict the slide I also have a set of 38's the same 3 , C1 and 1 B1 but they were positioned differently any help greatly appreciated Thanks :-) Quote
Oilyspanner Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 C1 is definitely for the 40mm CVs, I had a slightly damaged carb top on one of my carbs - I noticed that the 36mm tops don't appear correct and I wasn't sure about the 38s, so I searched around on the net until I found the correct one at a decent price. I think the diameter is okay , but the central protrusion length varies. Someone has probably altered some or similar, so maybe they'll add to the thread . . hopefully ! Quote
Captain Chaos Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 there are 3 different carb tops for the 40mm BST's. One for Sweden and Germany (13502-41C10), one for France (41C30) and one for the other markets (41C00). Germany and France had a 100bhp limit in the early '90s. Quote
Gixer1460 Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Doesn't only one of them have the vacuum take off for the fuel tap, hence 3 same + 1? Quote
Captain Chaos Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 they all have a take-off, unused ones are plugged. The same take-offs are used for synchronising the carbs. Quote
