clivegto Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 Got some stainless tubes & flanges to have a go at making my own turbo headers, the ones I have were for a b12 & are very close to the frame rails. Quote
clivegto Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 Only have a mig welder no tig. Got mainly 38mm external tube & a bit of 39mm internal tube to make the header flange things. Quote
clivegto Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 (edited) Drilled some holes in the short 39mm tube slid it over the 38mm tube then spot welded it with stainless wire in the mig, ground the welds down a bit so it would fit the head. Edited September 5, 2019 by clivegto Quote
clivegto Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 (edited) Using 20 degree bends for the outside ones to take the exhaust pipe away from the frame rails. First one done. Edited September 5, 2019 by clivegto 4 Quote

clivegto Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 Bit more shaping done on the bottom parts of the pipes where they meet up. Welded the top of each header up then ground the ugly welds back down flush. 3 Quote
clivegto Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 These headers fit lots better round the frame. Run out of gas so need to get some more, how inconvenient. 4 Quote
busa ash Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 Awesome work Clive and your own work 1 Quote
clivegto Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 Got some more gas & finished the welding on the headers of, also made a copper turbo gasket up. Just to say clears the front wheel but it's enough. 2 Quote
clivegto Posted October 1, 2019 Posted October 1, 2019 K5 forks I am using are a bit short so got a couple of r1 top yokes which are 50mm same as K5 & as cheap as chips. Cut them up with angle grinder then a bit of shaping. Fastened them together with the Harris top yoke with some 50mm round bar. Just need to get them welded up now. Done this twice before with great succses. 5 Quote
clivegto Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 Got the top yoke weld up. Pudle welded the pockets on the under side to strengthen the yoke to fit risers. Welded over the nice Harris logo on the top because some fool previously drilled a hole through it. Thanks to Will of Weab motors for the welding. 1 Quote
