Antman Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 I was looking at farming out the front calipers to Powerhouse for a rebuild. Seems lazy and I'd prefer to do it myself however I'm really strapped for time. Uk. Based business anyone used them or heard anything good about them. There is no one in Oz. that does what they do. RojoMojo Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Hi, i used them to rebuild / repaint and put all stainless fittings on all 3 calipers on my 1100M and i was please with the result, although they are not cheap. But the calipers look and feel brand new. My bike had been well abused before i got it and the calipers were pissing out fluid, and were a light grey colour, once i finally got 25 years worth of shite off them.Having never really found a decent brake fluid resistant paint to paint calipers in when i tried in the past i weighed up how much it would cost for me to get them vapor blasted and coated somewhere and then buy all new seals / bolts and pistons (i need be) and decided sending them off and getting them back a couple of weeks later was just an easier option. I would use them again, but of course this is only my opinion. Cheers Rojo Quote
banoffee Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Not heard of them however have heard good things about Mail Order Repairs who do caliper rebuilds. http://mailorderrepairs.co.uk Quote
crashtester Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 (edited) I used them a few years ago and was very happy with the result. I'd use them again. Edited May 25, 2016 by crashtester Poor spelling Quote
Simbec1863 Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 (edited) Powerhouse do a good job at a reasonable price compared to adding up the cost of buying all the bits and painting yourself here are some before and after pics Edited May 25, 2016 by Simbec1863 2 Quote
Antman Posted May 27, 2016 Author Posted May 27, 2016 That is a nice finish, I'd be happy if I unwrapped them Quote
Nigkat Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Just used them. As been said a bit pricey but excellent service and can`t fault them. Quote
