Jonny Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Hi all, I’m thinking about putting some slingy wheels into my new slabby project. Am I right in thinking that the later W-suffix bike wheels (from water-cooled slingys) are lighter than wheels from oil-boilers, or did I just make that up? 1 Quote
Upshotknothole Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Yup, slightly lighter. Fronts are interchangeable, rears have different spacing. Quote

Upshotknothole Posted February 15 Posted February 15 If you can find a set for a good price, dropping weight where you can always helps. Just plan on making custom spacers for the rear unless you're running a W swing arm. 1 Quote
Oilyspanner Posted February 15 Posted February 15 I've got the weight savings written down somewhere but couldn't find it. The Slingshot wheels are heavy, from memory I think the straight spoke, bandit 1200/gsxr1100 ws on, are front 500 gm lighter and the rear pretty much a kilo lighter. 2 Quote
