Rimotu66 Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Any good or should I stick to OE? I need a sump gasket. Quote
vizman Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Fiona walker used them in her undercrackers....I'd stick with oe Quote
Jaydee Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 I've used Athena head gaskets in the past, nothing wrong with their quality. Since the sump gasket is the paper type, I can't see Athena making a fuck up of a pattern part. I have a genuine Suzuki sump gasket that I use to copy and make my own from 0.8mm gasket paper. Made a good few over the years and never had any give me problems. 1 Quote
vizman Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 are the Athena ones cheaper/more available/etc...or if you have one in stock I'd use it...'sonly a sump gasket. Quote
Rimotu66 Posted March 7, 2016 Author Posted March 7, 2016 Thanks guys, unsure on price, just getting a list together of parts to order, cant be arrised to make one given the low cost of a proper one, I will see what Robinsons charge with our discount. Who's Fiona Walker? Quote
Ben Slabby Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Head gaskets and such I'd go with OE, lot of work to tear it down again if it fails. Sump and clutch/starter/pickup cover gaskets, I've never had a problem with pattern ones. Quote
Sam-Jaffa Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Agreed with above, with casing gaskets o just use cheap and cheerful as theres not alot that can go wrong really Quote

KATANAMANGLER Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 This is Fiona Walker. Athena's best selling poster of all time. Yes I know it's off topic but: 1. I never took it there. 2. I'm answering a question. 3. Admins make the rules blah blah blah 2 Quote
