Allspeeds Posted November 29, 2024 Author Posted November 29, 2024 Frame back from fab so it’s off to SSS Monday all been well it’s much tidier now and simple and square! Single lighter spar for battery box to mount to and two lugs abit thicker to use for mounting a seat frame further down the line. as for the crank as Larry says I plan on giving this bike some shit so as much as my original crank is serviceable for stock motor Larry is supplying me with a fully fresh and welded job he says will take 500hp right Larry? as much as it’s a expensive replace if done now it’s done and will see out plenty of use 4 Quote

I guarantee it will, for a second or two. Mind you, I imagine in that second or two the frame would end up as a modern art sculpture. Quote
clivegto Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 That's an interesting looking little battery Nick not seen one like that before. Quote

I run a smaller one in the supertwin but I’d say this size one would be best for the bigger but bikes it’s the same size as a yuasa YTX9BS 1 Quote
Allspeeds Posted December 1, 2024 Author Posted December 1, 2024 Had chance between boring house jobs to nip and see Dave to collect my crank cases and head etc he’s vapour cleaned/ blasted them for me they look mega genuinely probably best vapour finish I’ve had off anyone I’ve used before! And to clarify when I dropped them off we discovered the previous owner had done a top job and acid etched everything prior to painting silver so Dave (malton vapour blasting) had to first acid strip them before vapour cleaning them. It’s genuinely a shame to paint them but silver cases are just not for me on this build unfortunately im loaded up ready to go to SSS coatings tomorrow I was going to have apex custom paint worxs paint the engine but whilst at SSS il speak to them about possibly powder coating or maybe cericoating them 10 Quote
