general_piffle Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Hi all, if an aftermarket swingarm fits a GSX1100S Katana, then it should fit a GSX1000SZ Katana, shouldn’t it? I believe frames, and everything else, were the same on the two models, it was just the engines and carbs (for the VM32SS oval-slide equipped bikes) that were different. Quote
TonyGee Posted September 27 Posted September 27 the GSX 1100 frames are all basically the same so should fit ok. Quote
stockcar Posted September 28 Posted September 28 would even fit the 750 version as well as earlier GSX1100ET, GS, etc................frames are all basically the same Quote

Anders74 Posted September 30 Posted September 30 Do you need to change swing on Gsx750 if you want gsxr wheels? Quote

Pedda Posted September 30 Posted September 30 As far as I‘m aware a 1100 Kat swinger should fit in a GSX 750 frame. The Kat swinger will take a 5.5 “ rim with a 180 section tyre. 2 Quote

" i used an offset front sprocket and had the rear carrier turned down to get the chain in line, used a GS500 rear calliper as it sits up top (like the GSX) and a 600 bandit hanger and disc. fitting a wider rear wheel isn't plug and play, you have to do some mod's. Anders74 Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Is it no good idea to buy bandit 1200 2003 and use 5.5 rims on gsx750 1981 rim? Quote
TonyGee Posted October 1 Posted October 1 1 hour ago, Anders74 said: Is it no good idea to buy bandit 1200 2003 and use 5.5 rims on gsx750 1981 rim? you can do if you want, you will still have to sort out the chain run, I put a B12 swinger on my GSX1100 (same set up as a 750) you can use the sprocket carrier from the standard GSX wheel as they fit a 1200 bandit wheel, but will still need an offset front sprocket, but you'll find the chain is close to the tyre and the frame but it does just about clears. this was the GSX i did. TonyGee Posted October 1 Posted October 1 on my current GSX1100 i have a bandit 600 rear wheel as is easier but it will get a 1200 wheel at some point Quote
Anders74 Posted October 2 Posted October 2 For the bandit 600 front, did the fork workt without mod? The axel and bearings same? Quote
Anders74 Posted October 2 Posted October 2 How did you do with the origal breakdisc back? Did it fit on the rim? Or you use bandit disc and caliper? Chain: does that work with 630 chain or can you change sprocket to 530 chain? Quote
