DeegzARG Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 Just swapped to iridium plugs and this is what the regular plugs look like after 200kms…. Look okay to you folks? cheers carlos Quote
Gixer1460 Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 Why the swap - Iridiums don't have much benefit unless you want to run super lean or your ignition system isn't up to scratch! Those don't look to have ever got hot enough to burn off the carbon - pretty sooty, not enough miles to colour the porcelain for a true read! 1 Quote
DeegzARG Posted September 1, 2023 Author Posted September 1, 2023 I swapped to iridium because I was told it might help a bit with idling. I don’t notice much of a difference though. I’ll check the plugs again sometime down the road. I’m still learning about the wrenching side of bikes, a lot to learn for sure. Quote
Tony Nitrous Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 I’ve swapped between regular and iridium’s a few times. Mixed riding, drags and dyno, never noticed a difference. Im told they have a longer life, but my bikes either don’t do high mileage or other get changed when they are in bits because they are a shit to get too. Don’t bother with iridium’s anymore. 2 Quote
johnr Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 Nah, iridium on anything other than a modern hi tech bike are just snake oil. Everybody telling you they're great is likely to be selling you them too. 2 Quote

If you want a smoother idle you need copper core plugs.. Quote
