Late 70s GS cyl heads.

Hi  Folkes thanks for letting me join . I'm trying to find out if a cyl head I was given from a GS 750 will fit my GS1000 79 model . These parts are impossible to find in Australia.   Thanks for any help you can offer  Cheers Mate . Sticks

The 850 top end will fit the 750, but I think the 750 onto the 1000 might be a non-starter. Might be wrong?

Your right Captain, it doesn't fit.

The only heads that fit a gs1000 is a gs1000 or a gs1100g shaft drive (2 v) before anybody gets confused with the gsx1100 (4v)  as that won't fit ever.

Also don't forget you have the slide carb heads and the CV carb heads for the gs1000 they will swap but you have to swap carbs as well or do a lot of messing with carb rubbers and I think the cam covers are different as well.

Pretty sure a z1000 head fits, and ive seen one at a strip in the states years ago with a gsxr1100 head, though i presume theres a fair bit of work involved there.
