I’ve got a spare big bore cylinder block. I can measure it, it’s bored for 1340/1371 liners but is currently bare. Really not much meat left between 1&2, 3&4.

@Upshotknotholeif you could, I would much appreciate that! Are you in Europe by any chance and willing to let go of the cilinder?

I'm in the states and it took me ages to track these down. Sorry, not for sale. I'll go out to my garage later and measure it, it's been snowing all morning and not in any rush to go out there at the moment.

Also the dimensions for the sleeves can be found here.

Would one have been Dale's old gas motor in the slingshot frame from a about 10 years back

Dale may have just been the jockey

Yea fair enough, they are definitely scarce at this time! And no worries about the time, when you do get a chance, I’d love to know the dimensions. I know that the sleeve dimensions are out there, but Im curious how tight the squeeze between the cilinder and the sleeve need to be :P keep us up to date about your project too :D

Usually zero or sub zero clearance - requires heated cylinder & cold sleeve or liquid nitrogen cooled sleeve to ambient / warm cylinder - avoids press fit distortion.

Any idea what the difference would be? Are we talking like a thou bigger than the cylinder? or?

Anything up to 3 thou is considered reasonable for an interference fit, obviously the bigger you go, the more expansion / shrinkage required. And bear in mind this is all before finished boring / honing is carried out - installing finished sleeves is a No - No (although i'm sure some people have done it!)

Press fit for cylinder sleeves are usually 0,10 mm - 0,05 mm.

Would prefer to go for the expansion/shrinkage method. Definitely will be fitting them in before boring and honing, but appreciate the headsup.

Also quick question. According to Wossner, the comp ratio is going to 12.5 to 1. Will I be able to run BP 98 ultimate or shell 98 Vpower? :TB:

Simple answer yes it should be ok .. but you will need to set it up accordingly

But you need to work out the actual C/R based on the actual measurements of your components "its not a guessing game" :tu

Yea definitely need to check the specifics, definitely glad to hear that if the C/R is 12.5-1 I can run 98. Was worried for a second it wouldn't be
