MTC 1216 Ring Gapping Reqd?

Just about to buy the kit, just wondered if the rings need gapping.... Checking and most always gaping or almost never when bored in tolerance.

Why would you not measure before fitting.. that ought to tell you everything you need to know?

I'm asking because I don't have a gapper any longer.

You only need some feeler gauges which ain't expensive compared to the price of the pistons. Yes cheque the gap.

100% check the gap. It could end up being a fookin expensive mistake if you dont

You can gap them with a file if youre careful, just spend a fiver on some feeler guages first and check em

Or use a Dremel tool with carborundum disc - after measurement obviously! I think i've only ever seen a ring grinder once in real life, in 40 years of playing with bikes!

I had one when I was messing with my old Ford's lent it to a mate usual story they  only forty quid
