Henry Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 I hope someone can help me, I have a 1983 Suzuki GS1100e and I need carbs. I have an opportunity tunity to get carbs off of a 1981 Suzuki GS 850, is this an even swap, I’m pretty sure I’ll have to re-jet or will it not work Henry Quote
rodneya Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 850 uses BS32's, so id say its not a switch. I have a set of 1100e carbs that will need some cleaning if you are interested Quote
wraith Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 I believe the carb spacing between the (gsx11e 16v in UK GS over there) and the gs850 8v are different Quote
TonyGee Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 if it helps, I used a set of 32mm carbs off a GSX750 (1980) on my GSX1100 (1983 engine) as a temporary measure till I sorted the 34mm carbs out. and it ran good with no carb mod's !!!!! 1 Quote
wraith Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 I've got a set of the gsx1100 (16v) 36mm carbs for sale but I think it might be expensive to send over the pond? Quote

It would appear that Suzuki San standardised the inlet spacings on the GS / GSX 16v engines through to end of the oil boilers so most will swap around. 1 Quote
wraith Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 Just now, Gixer1460 said: ? ? ? ? - those didn't have 36mm's only 34's. I believe the 36mm are the gsx1100efe carbs but would fit the older e/et 2 Quote
