Nvmessner Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 Hey all. I've got an 83 1100e I plan to start buildin soonish. The bike has a little bird terd weld on the rear section of the hoop. I figgered while I was fixing that I could stiffen up the frame a little. I've seen frame bracing kits for Hondas of this Era, but not for the suzuki. Any help would be appreciated. Quote

Nvmessner Posted September 20, 2021 Author Posted September 20, 2021 I've read the frame stiffening article in the archives. I was looking to see if anyone makes a kit. Or knows where to get one. Quote

Swiss Toni Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 There are kits, for what they are, they’re expensive! Look at the drawings in the vault, get some plate, tubing, hacksaw and flap wheels, and make your own. There are also free programmes online for making the angled ‘tube to tube’ joints. Far more satisfying than lining someone else’s pockets! 3 Quote
wraith Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 Also, start a project thread with lots of pics (as we all like pics) then if you're not sure or doing it right we can help. And welcome to OSS 2 Quote

Nvmessner Posted September 20, 2021 Author Posted September 20, 2021 Will do thank you. The turbo idea has definitely crossed my mind... 1 Quote
Reinhoud Posted October 4, 2021 Posted October 4, 2021 I doubt if it makes any difference, where I usually see where the frames are "reinforced" are mostly done on sections where it doesn't do much/anything. And where it could make a difference nothing is done. The engine gives the frame quite a bit of stifness too. 2 Quote
