Paintersteve Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 Morning all. this is my daily ride 1100 slabside with a 1127 in it. The other day the fork seals blew on it and I’ve taken it as an excuse to maybe upgrade the otherwise soggy front end I’ve been looking into options of maybe running progressive springs in what’s already there or converting to an upside down set up I’ve stumbled across a complete 750L front end ? just wondering what other people have gone for and what might be the best option before I start spending money? thanks in advance Steve Quote
Captn Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 Go for a late model USD, radial braked front end. You've got a solid platform, dive in on the suspension upgrade bits. This is the place for info for sure. There are some K model swap gurus in here that can set you right on triple clamps and steering stems. Quote
Captn Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 (edited) @SiBagposted some excellent USD info in the general chat section titled USD fork info. Check it out, good stuff. Edited April 12, 2020 by Captn Quote

They just seem a bit short so I didn’t know if that would be a hinderance Quote
Blubber Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 Only if you have a 4 into 1 collector limiting your ground clearance. You will probably be safe if you have a 4 2 2 or a 4 2 1 setup. Quote

manden Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 i have 91 yokes with an gsxr1000 k6 legs in it and its like night and day, but i did also had other brakes and a good front rim upgrade at the same time. the actual ride hight wasnt lower in the front. Quote
stellafella Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 I've got 91 750 m front on mine , slingshot wheels, and a sus linkage from funkymonk Mark Works nice Quote
Paintersteve Posted April 26, 2020 Author Posted April 26, 2020 Thanks for the advice all. ive managed to acquire a 750L frontend as that’s what budget allowed. I’ve polished the yokes and got it mounted I’ve decided also to run clipons and restyle the bike in an endurance style. I’ve got a janky old fairing mounted on the wall in my shed I’ll slap that on for now just to see how I get on as I’ve only ridden streetfighters for the last 6/7 years if I like it I’ll tap up Mr Fibreman for new fairings and make it look pretty. stellafella Posted April 27, 2020 Posted April 27, 2020 (edited) I trimmed the mounting lugs for the barrel on the top yoke, moving it up mate Edited April 27, 2020 by stellafella Quote

Paintersteve Posted February 14, 2021 Author Posted February 14, 2021 So I’ve been abit quiet for a while on here I’ve been busy with other none oss projects but I’ve managed to get on with the slabside abit. i was going to run clip Ons and an endurance style fairing but I just couldn’t get on with it so back on with the drag bars and a pair of cibbies . ive added a pair of triumph 6pot callipers and wavey discs too and I’ve been back out and about on it 2 Quote
