Swiss Toni Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 Is there anyone out there, with a set of 1100 ET/EX clocks off the bike? Can you post a picture of the underside of the case for me? Cheers! Quote
Swiss Toni Posted February 28, 2019 Author Posted February 28, 2019 Cheers, Eddie. Same as mine. According to AlphaSports microfiche, there's a plate below the clocks, with two holes in it for speedo/rc cables. Mine's missing. Must keep a lot of the weather out, as there's a fair bit of corrosion inside mine. Quote
imago Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 I have two sets in the unit (one tidy and one not) and I'll be up there tomorrow so I grab a photo is there's a shield/cover on the back of either. Quote
imago Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 I haven't forgotten, but it's punted to tomorrow now. Quote
Swiss Toni Posted March 2, 2019 Author Posted March 2, 2019 @imagoCheers! Take a look at my wanted post. See if you can help me out? Quote

I need to have a (long overdue) sort out of what's there so that I can make a pile of stuff I need to keep and stuff that I can get rid of. At the moment it's been that long since I stripped the bike I can't remember what I need There is a set of tidy clocks there for the rebuild, but until I test/check them I don't know if everything works so I don't know if I need to cannibalise the rough looking set which I know are functionally fine. As another example I'm pretty sure I have a complete set of bodywork (inc rear light, seat and UK tank) but I can't be certain until I dig it all out and make sure I have what I need to rebuild the 'project' ET. This is the back of the old/rough set of clocks, it's the same set up as the decent set and the ones on the other bike. Quote
Swiss Toni Posted March 2, 2019 Author Posted March 2, 2019 Cheers! That plate on the fiche may be for another market. Quote
eddiegsx Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 I have another set in my lock up on my American market ET, I shall pop down there shortly to see if there is any difference if that helps? Quote

The back of the cluster is pretty well covered so I can't see what benefit an additional cover would give. Plus anything that gives a bit more room for the rats nest of wiring and connectors stuffed behind the headlamp can only be a good thing. Quote
Swiss Toni Posted March 2, 2019 Author Posted March 2, 2019 @eddiegsxDon't go out of your way, Eddie. Have a gander next time you're in there! Quote
eddiegsx Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 I had to check coz you made me curious, this is the USA model, think it must have come from a dry climate hence the condition of the bracket. looks identical, hope this helps. Quote
Swiss Toni Posted March 3, 2019 Author Posted March 3, 2019 Yup! The insides of those are going to be in better condition. Here's a pic of that plate. It may even be part of the case? Quote

Swiss Toni Posted March 3, 2019 Author Posted March 3, 2019 (edited) The bit with the oblong cut-outs. As I said, that might have been the back of the original case. Edited March 3, 2019 by Swiss Toni Quote

Swiss Toni Posted March 3, 2019 Author Posted March 3, 2019 No. It's the lower half of the clock housing. Quote

Numbered (in two places) as 39, with two rectangular 'holes' shown and two circles. That's the bit I thought you were referring to, which is definitely the orange plastic. Quote
inazumarob Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 There is a brand new inner case ( £54 ) and a brand new rear panel ( £30 )on Eblag uk at the moment. Quote
Swiss Toni Posted March 7, 2019 Author Posted March 7, 2019 @imago#39's are the rubber mounting cushions for the clocks to bracket. Quote

Just had a look on CMSNL out of curiosity and there are two covers listed. The smaller version is as all the photos above, and another that appears deeper in the centre section but doesn't go as far as a full cover. It's an odd difference as the deeper cover is deeper in the centre, but still only goes down part way? Quote
Swiss Toni Posted March 7, 2019 Author Posted March 7, 2019 Yeah! Maybe the microfische pictures aren't as accurate as they should be? Quote
imago Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 Maybe/probably. It's an odd one as you said, they are different, but there doesn't seem to be any benefit to the small difference? Maybe it was a change made as part of the tweaks for the change from ET to EX? Quote
