teapot Posted January 11, 2019 Author Posted January 11, 2019 brand new battery, even does it when rigged to jumppack or being jumped from car, have by checked earth and replaced it . Quote
teapot Posted January 11, 2019 Author Posted January 11, 2019 have taken cover off and checked where starter motor goes all teeth intact and as good as new Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Connect jump pack directly to the starter motor, if it spins ok then it's the solenoid or wiring, if it's slow still, pull starter and see if it spins freely whilst not turning the engine?? Quote
teapot Posted January 12, 2019 Author Posted January 12, 2019 have already tried that and checked all 3 starter motors iv'e got and there all good , it seems like its running too much compression ? Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 whip the plugs out and see if it spins really fats then Quote
wraith Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 When you have the plugs out, turn it over by hand, just to see if you can feel anything tight as you turn it over. Quote
johnr Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 if the battery and starter are new, then try the solenoid. try linking the two poles of the solenoid with an old spanner. if the contacts in the solenoid are burnt, then the current from the battery will not get through to the starter. Quote

jonny1bump Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 Could very well be high compression. Quote
teapot Posted January 20, 2019 Author Posted January 20, 2019 Whipped the plugs out and it still turns over slow, !!! Quote
no class Posted January 20, 2019 Posted January 20, 2019 (edited) so....good battery / ground / starter /……….probably improper crank main bearing / con rod bearing clearances...….either way you go …...will probably need to come apart and checked . Edited January 20, 2019 by no class Quote
