  1. Hi fellow suzuki riders, I have a problem with my 1982 suzuki gsx1100. I have two dead cylinders 2 and 4, but 1 and 3 runs ok. I can start it which is quite hard and ride it at 27km/h at FULL throttle, which is even harder. I have a new battery on, around 120 psi cold compression on all four, completely rebuild carburetors(ultra sonicly cleaned) and newly refurbished cylinder head with adjusted valves. When i went through the wiring and testing of it, i meassured the coils primary to 1.8ohm and secondary to 26.5k ohm, on both coils, which is within specs as what i could tell from my haynes manual. I then came to the ignitor and noticed that it became untouchably hot after just a few seconds. Can this cause my possible misfiring conditions of the 2 cylinders and poor performance and how in the world do i fix it? I should mention that i gave it a new wiring harness with a Moto Gadget M-unit blue, original rectifier and starter. Thank you Morten

  3. Unfortunately as of today as i was going to clean out the head and lap the valves, i discovered a crack between the sparkplugwell and an inlet valve in cylinder 2 and 3. So i guess ill be needing a new head. The rest of the engine looks REALLY good, pistons, walls, cams, rockers etc. What head will be my best option? I've read that a GSXR1100 (86-90) or GSXR750(87-89 short stroke) would be a good improvement cause of better airflow. Are one of these a straight bolt on or what should i be expecting?
  4. Hello, Is it possible to fit a GSX1100F(1988) into a GSX1100E(1982) frame? I'm having a bunch of problems with the GSX1100E engine, and found a good running GSX1100F. I just can't see when the engine is standing alone if it would fit. Please and thank you
  5. Hello, my name is Karst from Holland, I’m new here. I’m starting A project to upgrade a GSX1100ET, got RSV mille suspension and Ohlins mono at the rear, connected to a TLR swingarm. I got an EFE engine. I’d like to know if an EFE Gas-tank fits the ET frame, does anyone know? Now i have the GS1000 tank fitter but I think its to smooth and little, anyone looking for a GS-tank? 1st foto is how the bike was, 2nd is how it is now, then with different wheels and front fork, now got the showa front fork and 5 spoke aprilia rims First the bike was from A mate but he allready sold the ohlins front fork and Y-spoke rims..now I’m taking his project further, so I wil Come up with Some questions, hope this forum can help me!
  6. So i got my hands on a set of bst36ss from a 1998 bandit 1200. I was wondering which dynojet kit is the best for my 1100 kat engine(83) with a free flowing exhaust. I was thinking a gsxr1100 stage 3 kit, but is it even compatible with the bst36ss from a bandit 1200? Please help guys :---)
  7. Hello, I have been wondering if my bike would benefit from switching to 10W50 full synthetic instead of 10W40 semi synthetic. Both castrol power 1, but racing for the full synthetic of course. My bike has 70k km (45k miles) on it, and some of my friends told me that the old bike would benefit from the thicker oil. What are your opinions. Best regards Morten
  8. Evening all, I've been lurking for a while and have just recently taken delivery of this GSX1100, which some of you may have seen on Eblag, please don't tell me paid to much for it! Anyway I've had enough of sportsbikes and have took some time to decide what I really want from a bike and this fits the bill perfectly. The plan is to get it working, get it registered and ride it this summer before looking at upgrades next winter. Here are the original pictures of it and to be honest its not to bad, it's not been used for a few years according to the paperwork so will be focused on just re-commissioning it and getting it all working for now, anyway here are the pics. PS - I know the seat is horrible so no need to mention that but other constructive comments welcome Cheers
  9. Hello, guys! Found some problems with ignition on my GSX1100 and took off the coils to test. Got next numbers (please see photos) According to manual, kindly provided by agemax, the numbers are to be: Now 2 main newcomer's questions: 1. Did I proceed the test in the right way? 2. If I need to change the coils is it possible to replace them with other model ones (except DYNA)? Thanx, please don't kick too much)))))
  10. Hi All Have bought a coil that looks like a later model type (GSX F?). The low tension wires are black / black-white but the loom has a white / orange-white connection. Can anyone tell me which wire goes where? Secondly, the new coil has the plug wires one above the other, whilst the standard ones are side by side. Which one is which? Any help appreciated...
