  1. i welded mine- same outcome just different ways of arrivinj there. looks nice
  2. well i emailed gia for frame costs today. Still undecided between zed or sponny kat style
  3. i did that same tank mod on my harris, to rid myself of the horrible section at the bottom of the tank. i also incorporated 2 mounts which mount the tank to the frame, instead of those stupid rubber bands. Made an extension at the front of the tank too, and did a boss in the frame. All mounted on rubber washers on top of stainless, to prevent the vibes destroyin the tank or braze. Looks much better
  4. Dont tell me, his 50th by any chance? thats why i was lookin for it . was plannin treatinj myself but i suppose its back to its spiritual home now, so i cant complain. I may try gia for a frame price for somethin similar, to house either a busa motor (fugly but rapid) or my 1340 gsxr but i would probably be nearer 60 by the time it was built lol. I also thought about an alloy z1B style frame and bodywork with the 1340 gsxr motor., in a sanctuary stylee. Opinions? Its either that or a v4 aprilla tuono or S1000RR, but everyone has one of them?
  5. Should have g one to specsavers. Oh well never mind, i'll just have to treat myself to somethin else instead!
  6. i have, but dony really have the time to build it. too much work not enoujh play. ive not finished my jixxer efe from about 6 years back.or my harris
  7. ive recently had a insurance payout . Im far from flush, but would have thoujht about 10k-15K for it (Im Scottish remember ha ha)
  8. your memory is better than mine then. Shame about the sponnie, i was lookin to try and buy it., i suppose it would be silly money tho
  9. I know about rons one, but it was a modded katana frame, not a spondon, altho it looked very similar. Enjine was deffo jixxer
  10. its this one i was on about, may be the same one as woodys
  11. Hi i wonder what happened to the spondon katana, you know the one- the wrap around harris kinda style alloy frame housed a jixxer motah? Any ideas who has it , and more to the point if its for sale? feel free to pm me if you know of its wherabouts?
  12. I would start by checking all your hoses from the tank, including the breathers. Make sure they are not kinked etc.
  13. Hi a friend recently told me that SV 1000 clutch slave seals have a double seal on them and fit TLR and thus Gsxr slingy slave cylinders. Does anyone know if this is true, before I order one? Oh and while im at it, do you know if the chamfer on the seal faces toward the engine, or outwards? Cheers
  14. Well i like it, and im no hipster. i dont own a check shirt wear turn ups on my jeans or possess a beard its not un-fixable, and the clear coat on the frame looks the nuts. What is they say about preconceptions. It has no tank because it is a pared down race bike, which won the race, ajainst the likes of Fojarty on a blown triumph!! theres life in the old brute
  15. nice seat unit, it suits the frame wel, and she looks like she wont be off thwe road for lonj. What colout are you doin the tank etc?
  16. oh rite, my memory aint what it used to be. ha ha
  17. Nice EFE mate, but i was on about your oil cooled one? Did you finish it
  18. and lets see yer EFE too, while yer at it!
  19. They must be off a 600 blandit then, cos the 12 discs are flat aint they. May be easier chanjin the wheel and disc off a 12
  20. akrapovic headers are cheaper than you may think.
  21. not sure on sprocket, but will measure tomorrow for you bud, that second pic has my handwritin on it. i remember doin this years ajo. thats an old drawin wraith mate?
  22. i have put a gsxr engine into a kat frame, and can tell you right now that the mounts on the file/ picture/ cad drawing do not fit.. They didnt fit my katana frame anyway 1981 kat. I have also fitted a couple ofgsxr enjines to EFE frames, and they are close, but im sure one of them (poossibly bottom mount is off). I found the easiest way to do this, and save yourself some heartache, is to remove the sump from the gsxr motor, and place the enjine in the frame, you can shim it up until you have it in the desired position. If you remove the sump, you can put some steel plate across the bottom of the frame, and slide the enjine back and forth till you have it in the correct position, and you can shim it up or down easier. You need to take into account the following. MAke sure exhaust is fitted, and clears the frame downtubes Make sure the carbs and filters are fitted, and clear the Kat side panels and tank Most importantly, make sure the enjine sprocket is in the same position as the orijinal katana one was., and lines up with the rear wheel then measure them up and away you go. All you need are some accurate verniers, and a friendly CNC monkey
