I was looking at fitting dyna coils I have spare to my slabby . Was wondering how other people have mounted them. There seems to be enough room to mount them horizontally across original mounting points if I make small brackets for each end. Any other ideas welcome.

@Swiss Tonisorry mate I must have had my spindle cut & rethreaded, don't remember it was quite a few years ago, just searched through all my et stuff and a box of spindles. The only 16mm one I have is the one I measured the other day my apologies for posting wrong size
-
Ah bollox my mistake my bike had raask rear sets, it's been in bits too long and I forgot the spindle went through peg mounts If I have original spindle I'll give it to you.

Just measured mine 16mm x 290mm (from underside of head to start of thread) hope that helps

I recently bought another 750f jap spec tank, I took the sender unit out so I can sort out slight rust in tank. The problem is previous owner had put something in tank and shook it to try and remove rust but all it's done is fuck the sender unit, has any one had any luck repairing unit or now of something similar that I can fit. I know it's a long shot but any info wellcome. cheers

Get a new bolt ! :-p if it's the thread in the sump that's stripped find something longer as its threaded all the way through, a ham fisted mate over tightened his es750 sump I modded a spark plug ( same thread m14x1 ) worked fine

I'm away to a rally this weekend but I will get in touch with guy who's breaking bike on monday
-
The bike that's being broken is a jap import !
-
It's 3.50 wide, there's a guy not far from me breaking a 750f if you want I could find out if he has front wheel.
-
I'll take a look later and let you know

I have a standard F & aG that's been messeed with, as well as usual give aways I've seen a few other differences, bar end weights are longer on f but that might just be jap model difference. My g has rubbers on rear pegs & hooks on under sides

Hi Macduff, if yer from Macduff I have a spare rear wheel & I'm not too far from there
-
Thanks for the reply. Just ordered a pair of roadattac's better spec than contigo's and got em cheaper too.

My 750f needs new tyres and there doesn't seem to be much choice, never been a fan of metzler and the last set of Avon road riders perished on front side wall. It has Bridgestone battlax which are ok but I prefer continentals I have conti motions on two of my other bikes & can get contigo's but rear is 150 so the question is will it fit and will it handle ok with wider tyre.

Good to see another slabby back on the road, I have a spare belly pan if you need one.

I got air box out quite easily. Carbs came out a lot easier than it looks then slackened off battery box , twisted air box to the left and out it came , I hope it goes into other bike as easily.
-
I got carbs off last night so hope to have a go at air box tonight
-
Thanks for replays , I'll have a go at it when I get time
-
Is it possible to remove air box on 750 slabby with engine in situ ?

Just been out to tax bike then went for a blast , love it, goes well for a 30 year old with 40thou on the clock ! But the mirrors are shite.... even tucked right in & chin on the tank I can barely see any thing behind me, which isn't good with the amount of unmarked pig cars up this way
-
Problem solved ! It was a vacume hose from air box to carbs, runs sweet now
-
A mate just bought an srad to sort & sell on, story is the vacuum tap was letting fuel by pas, it hyrauliced and burnt out starter trying to start it. He got it home drained oil/fuel 6ltrs of it ! Fitted another starter put fresh oil in changed plugs cleaned the carbs, it started fine if a bit smokey, so it starts fine and ticks over nicely but try and ride it and its fine to approx 7000rmp and bog down real bad. Any one any ideas ?

Grr I just broke the right hand mirror off it ffs, tried to adjust it a wee bit and it came of in my hand ! Looks like its been plastic welded in the past.
