  1. RS36's at 1/2 turn out getting a bit of spitting through the carbs at low throttle opening and a lot of popping through the pipe on deceleration. Should I be going to a bigger pilot. Bike starts easily and runs well.

There is a lot of confusing info out there regarding these cards.

...jus so ya know: Harley's have Brembo brakes.

Russell makes universal hoses, with threaded ends which makes them easier to customize. Pick the hose length and which ends you need, and they're made in USA

Ive use Russell a few times. Same company that make edelbrok stuff. Choose what angle ends you need and hose length and just thread together.

Threaded inserts get a bad name. Installed correctly they work well. They were not designed for thread repair, that was an after thought, they were designed for the aerospace industry to use to make aluminum connections stronger. The inside thread is steel so it doesn't pull out as easy, and the insert increases the size of the fastener, making the connection stronger, more surface area in the connection interface.

The people that tell me that helicoil are crap are the people that just ham fisted or galled the thread out of their oil pan or spark plug, where my aerospace machinist friends swear by them.

  4. If you order the full exhaust the only option is the megaphone muffler. Other mufflers are available, but they will not fit without mods.

My Kat frame is widened to fit the swingarm / 6" wheel and I wanted to use the oval muffler, so I needed to make some changes.

I extended the link pipe and changed the angle a bit. Made a new hanger from some stainless to keep everything in place and Im quite happy with it.

Not too loud either. Now if it just warms up a bit I can go for a rip.

I had an issue for many years with clutch slip (like 30 years on & off!)

I finally found the problem last year when replacing the plates yet again. I noticed looking through the drilled holes in the pressure plate ( these were an addition on later engines) that there was very little clearance before the pressure plate bottomed out on the inner basket, thereby preventing the springs doing their bit. I messed about with some slightly thicker plates to increase the clutch stack height & problem solved. I should have spotted it years ago but I have no idea why it happened in the first place. Tolerance buildup maybe, who knows but it's worth having a really good look & measuring everything.

Ive seen people run two steels at the bottom of the pack to increase stack height.

  6. Old post I know.

Above mentions 750 ESD cams cross over to the 1100.

But the 750 has 34.910mm inlet and 36.060mm exhaust lift.

    1150 has 34.95mm inlet and 34.640mm exhaust

750 Inlet has similar lift to the 1150cams, but exhaust has less.

My question is, how would running the 750 cams in a 1150 motor change the power?
