1170 et . Hi all , yep as per title - rotor keeps spinning loose . Not down to hard starting - as Efe starter and cog fitted . Starts on half a crank everytime . Even after crank end nut tight as fuck and nice unworn rotor fitted . Keyway seems unlikely as a cure - very tricky . spot weld rotor onto crank would work but bit drastic me thinks . Any suggestions ? Crank recently rebuilt - so not ready to throw it away just yet .

Air box same . Seat same .

Will stick with the rs 36 on my 1170 , but think I shall try out the vm's on a 750 et that I'm rebuilding over the summer .
-
Hooray someone that can read a question and not answer it with another !!!!! With sound info also . Cheers gixer1460. many thanks

And back to the original question - ????? ( cheers steve !!!) Vm29mm vs rs 36 for street use - anyone had first hand experience on one vs the other??
-
Hi all , any one have first hand experience of both sets of these carbs for comparison ?? I appreciate the rs carbs are favoured on the strip - ie better wot performance . But am asking about street use . Running on an 1170 with standard head .
-
Will be interested to hear the outcome .

Rs36's , 1170 , v+h , 30mm stacks , ram air twin socks . 130 mains - perfect brown and no bog . So 132 would seem more , than 134 IMO . Yep ,that does not answer your question either . Might answer someone else's though .

It's going in to be sprayed etc next month .Will get some pics up soon after I have it fitted .

I still think its a nice little pink investment - now take your toes from my puddle !!

Oh yes I forgot - only certaim M members are allowed opinions on here - anyone else is obviously a tit or a cunt or not in the little dittle bubble of their la la land . Jesus that Tourette's is really catchy isn't it .

I guess it's down to how much you paid out initially . Values of 1100's are steadily increasing ( for original machines ) . Or you could spend money on shiny curly things and find it may be worth less . My advice - if you have the space and time - keep it original , keep it clean , run it up from time to time and keep a nice little investment .

Hi all , instead of using riser sections to gain the 45mm - is there any outlet that makes/ supplies 45mm riser as one piece ( to suit 11et top 22mm bar ) . perhaps someone has had some made and can recommend ? cheers

Managed to upload a pic of the mudguard I was questioning - this came off a Gsx 750 et . Any thoughts ?

I have my own private drag strip near me , it even has two lanes marked out with white lines ,cats eyes and a roundabout for a return run . Sometimes I see slow cars using it , but they always tend to move over when I'm there . I think they all must have clubbed together in secret last year , and had it resurfaced - no doubt out of respect for my generosity with the use .

Et - which bits are et ?- other than some of the red bits
-
Certainly nothing wrong with that bit of history . Good for another 40 years i recon . Welcome !!!
-
Hi all , does anyone know if the 1100/750 et had more than one front mudguard variation /shape from the factory ?
-
That brings back memories of my first set of rs36's . I bought some second hand - previous owner had done almost the same thing - carbs in wrong order . I had fuel flowing out of one end of the no.4 carb - he had got no.3 and 4 confused !!! glad you got it sorted !! Enjoy
-
Twin shock - so much better I recon . Keeps the et looking as it should .
-
How do you think they fair on performance vs the v&h - much difference ?
-
Do you have other carbs that you know are good ? If so , swap and try . That will rule out fuelling if 1 and 4 still don't fire .
-
Agree with blubber . Similar experience myself years back . Turned out to be wiring problem between dyna pickups and coils . Lt wires were failing at a junction .
-
Yep they look to be a good price - but it begs the question - why ? Any more first hand experience info would be good . Cheers
