  1. Thanks. I'll get some better pics later. But looks promising. Supposed to be a knifedged crank In it.
  2. Hi all. I picked up a motor over the weekend and have a few questions. More to come later I know the pic is not great but does this look like the crank has had work?? The motor is up on a high bench at the moment so I need a extra pair of hands to move it and take the sump of for a closer better pic. Also maybe it does not matter but any ideas where the lockup is from. Anyone want their cooking pan back (not) proper oldskool though Cheers jon
  3. So from what your saying. I need to lean out the lower and top end??
  4. Please excuse my lack of knowledge. So the lower the number on afr is rich or lean??
  5. When I say stock. I'm on about the carbs. Bike has full system and filters
  6. Is it right that the Afr should be between the red and green lines?? This is all new to me. Never had a bike on a dyno. And have done the jetting myself through lockdowns etc.
  7. Any recommendations in somerset then.
  8. It was just a power run. To see what was what. No tuning.
  9. The dyno guy said its lean lowdown and up top. On 4 pulls the average was 133 odd bhp. and just shy of a 100 ft/lb. My first time jetting. He said it was a good graph. But as above could do with being a little richer low and high
  10. Got the bandit in the dyno today. It's a little lean lowdown and top end. Advise on what I should do next appreciated. Setup so far 160 main 5th clip on needle plus 5 washers Mixture 3 turns out Everything else stock
  11. Cancel that I've read the wrong bit sorry. Had a busy day.
  12. Hi all. Pulled the rocker cover of a spare motor today to do valves. Is the guide missing. Or is it the strip in the cover its self?? Need to swap this engine in to another bike. As I have some issue going on. Cheers
  13. Also anyone recommend a clutch tool. As I dont have one
  14. I get what your saying. And the parts are magnetic so steel. As above I'm just going to pull it apart slowly. I've never done anything like this before. So took a couple of pics. To see if there was anything that stood out. After the sump was off I found a piece of metal about 2 ish mm long. Fresh metal one side and black in colour the other. I'll probably put the motor in out of my project build for now so at least I will have a bike to ride. Then this one will (hopefully) get built for the project
  15. Thanks for the tips guys. I shall probably pull the motor out on the weekend. Just do small bits in the evening after work until its ready to drop. Pulled the exhaust of tonight and the sump for a little look. I know there is loads I cant see. But anyone see anything? The small lever part on the end of the selector drum has some material on it.
  16. Just been flicking through the manual on my lunch break. And looking at what needs to be done. Are there any specific tools I'm going to need. Clutch tool I know but anything else. Cheers
  17. Ah crap. Hear comes a learning curve
  18. @TonyGeeThat's was my thoughts. I've never stripped a motor before! @clivegto if the sprocket/output shaft bearing had gone/going surely it would make the noise in all gears
  19. What part has let/letting go hear??
  20. So dropped the oil today. As the noise almost seems like third is partially engaged. Put a magnet in the drained oil. And see pic
  21. I shall try that. I had only adjusted the chain this morning. After the bike had a good cleaning.
  22. Hi all. Been out for a blast today. And the motor/gearbox has developed a rattle in third gear. On power cant really hear it. But steady in third and deceleration you can hear it. Chain tension good, outputshaft bearing good. What could be the cause of this?? And should I be concerned riding it.
