  1. Was gonna joke put a bolt across it and see which wire smokes , but the op might take that too literally lol . I would have just swapped another fuse for now just to see if it starts . Puddy
  2. From what i have read somewhere on here , they were originally fitted with an internal battery condition sensor. Those batteries are no longer available and there is a wiring mod to put the light out . Will let you know if i succeed with mine , i have a friend who is an electronics wizard so fingers crossed. Puddy
  3. Got a set of k1 ti headers gathering dust , never knew they were so universal . Puddy
  4. Been a bit distracted for the last week with another Suzuki i bought to sell , but its going down to my local bike shop on sale or return tmw . Think the first jobbie is engine covers back on , oil in and a fire up. Fingers crossed the carbs won't leak any more . Pics to follow ! Puddy
  5. Obviously how they are meant to be , mine were the same when i stripped them a couple of weeks ago. Puddy
  6. Been down the chicken shed tnt to have a bit of a mock up with the vapor blasted clutch cover and powder coated points cover . I am quite pleased with the look tbh . Also took a pic of my freshly recovered and chopped down front and rear seat . Brought the sprocket cover back with me to get some stainless cap heads for that as well as the starter cover. Puddy
  7. I do that on my other big bikes with push pull cables but with a single its not too bad , just had to drag the bike out of the chicken shed into the sunshine and i was sorted ! Cheers puddy
  8. Well it wasn't, decided to bite the bullet and refit the carbs . They went back in easier than they came out tbh , stuck a bungee cord round the airbox and they slid in lol. Worst bit was trying to reconnect the throttle cable with my blind mole eyesight ! All done tho , also fitted my bar ends and oil temp sensor. Found another loose bit to add to the list , already discovered a top shock bolt with the nut just hung on the end of the bolt , this time i gave the front sprocket a bit of a shake , also loose even though the lock tab was bent over . Puddy
  9. Footrests back together also , looks like this afternoon's task will be refitting them. Puddy
  10. New needle valve assemblies fitted , float heights set , middle 2 floats way too high , outer ones spot on . New gaskets and refit float bowls. God this stuff takes time lol. Puddy
  11. Peppa pig stickers on the case courtesy of my 2 year old granddaughter lol ! Can't do a thing without them nowadays, don't get old. Puddy
  12. Can only imagine they came out of a drag bike .
  13. Helps if your son works at the powder coaters as well I suppose lol , Aurora coaters in aldershot. They have vapor blasting and an ultrasonic tank now as well. Highly recommended !
  14. Last few bits back from the powder coaters , also got the new clutch cover gasket and m6 helicoil set . Hopefully get it all back together this weekend. Puddy
  15. Wahoo , had a few bits waiting for me when i got back to work today .... Still waiting on a few engine covers from pc , the clutch cover gasket and m6 helicoil set. Did pick up some black nylon washers for when i refit said pc'd covers with my new stainless m6 allen bolts. Happy days again ! Puddy
  16. First thing i would recommend is a proper set of jis type screwdrivers, give the screws a sharp tap with a small hammer first too before trying to disassemble. Get them ultrasonically cleaned and fit new needle valves , i have my set apart on my 1100efe at the mo so i speak from experience lol. Puddy
  17. Thanks for that. I heated the casing but as its a needle roller bearing there was not enough to hit safely to tap it out . Gonna see how i like the contrast of one vapor blasted case with the rest pc'd for now. Hopefully should get the others back this week along with a few parts i have ordered. Really wanna get out on it this year. Puddy
  18. Got my footrests back from the vapor blasters. Had the bottoms pc'd. Also dropped off the engine covers for powder coat but had the clutch cover vapor blasted as i couldn't get the lower clutch release arm bearing out . Puddy
  19. Carbs off and stripped , no muck inside at all so have decided to fit new fuel valves , o rings and gaskets as all of the o rings were squared. Also ordered a new oil temp sensor as mine is deffo dead , the circuit was fine. Fitted my new grips , unfortunately the bar ends were wrong for renthals so ordered the right ones. Lastly as its gonna be at least a week for the other stuff , started removing the engine covers , out of 9 bolts ( I think ) 4 snapped on the starter /flywheel side lol. So have also ordered an m6 helicoil set , happy days ! Puddy
  20. Yup , guildford. Boxhill and newlands corner are my favourite local haunts with Alton cafe on a summer's wednesdays night. Puddy
  21. Dropped all of the badly painted footrests off yesterday for vapor blasting , will put up a pic of the resullts when i get them back. Also dropped off some fork leg bottoms for another project, they should be interesting as well. Puddy
