  1. not long after getting my 750 I did the same as you.. but i was after changing the oil a few days earlier and the oil looked like it had been changed recently so I kept it .. was gonna use it in an old lawnmower.. so I flushed mine with the old oil I had changed ..then new oil and filter for the bike.... lawnmower got fcuk all ....and their both still going 6 yrs on....lol
  2. don't try and start it... drain and flush the engine oil.. those petcocks with the prime can be a disaster if left on... easy to forget to return it to run... your not the first and won't be the last it happens to

  5. got the seat on flea bay... they dont come up too often...got in the UK.. had a job to convince the seller to sell to me and post to ireland what with all the customs and VAT. since brexit
  6. I'd been looking for 1 for a long time.. I had the fairing bought yrs back just needed the bike to go with it. only recently found a bike shop here that deals in older stuff .. no website its through word of mouth he sells his stuff.. old skool.. he has a shop full of stuff .. its messy but he knows where everything is.. kind of ..

  8. it just needs a general tidy up.. change the shocks.. id love to bring the exhaust back to black .. but what kind of high temperature paint would last on an exhaust??? .. and I was told that RG 500 mirrors fit the fairing . so I ordered a pair.. they were cheap if they work great .. if not its no big deal ..

  10. hello people... quick question for the experts or knowledgable people here... would a 1977 GS750 seat fit a 1978 GS1000 or vice versa...its a giullari seat...anyone know??.. thanks
  11. hello people... im hoping to pick up a GS1000E in the next week or 2... i have a wes cooley replica fairing to fit to it.. does any here have 1 fitted to theirs that they could take a pic of the fitting kit they use... theres a fitting kit on flea bay...just looking to see where they attach to on the bike....thanks in advance...
  12. black one is off an early gs750 grey one is a gs550.. tunnel width is much the same.. gs750 tank is about 2 inches longer

  15. thanks for that... i have all the original bits if i want to put it back to standard... apart from the exhausts... hard to find and expensive

  18. thanks lads ... i ll try the idle adjuster .. but it seems nice and tight and would nt really back off ... but i hope thats it.... if not ...its probably as ye say and the pilot jets are blocked...time to seek one of those wonderous wizard like carb gurus to do his voodoo shit on my carbs....it starts and drives great and if i hold the throttle slightly open it idles fine...its not the end of the world... thanks again
  19. hello people.. have a 1977 GS750 which up until today ran like a clock...for some reason my bike today just wont idle.. dies straight away without using the throttle to keep the revs up..its not even attempting to idle...why all of a sudden would this happen... i know its probably something to do with fueling or those mystical mythical hard to understand for people like me carburetors...any carburetor gods out there with this mystical knowledge...thanks anyway
