I gave it a quick glance and looks to be done with just plates between the engine and the tabs on the frame, hardly proper engineering.

Engine is fully stock and came from a known-good bike. I'm quite stumped by the issue because for the moment, there's nothing pointing at the real problem.
I vote to change the sump, to take that out of the equation. I'll snap a pic of the cooler later.

@Leblowski's Turbo is a Bakker. The company is still trading and you can get anything they ever made done new, if your pockets are deep enough.

Right, 2 bikes done for the coming spring and one firmly in the works. if all goes well, I'll even get this sorted before TT.
I found an SRAD600 or 750 regrec in a box of spares; would this be any good?
