Now get it to factor in drag and it'd be really useful.
@Gixer1460You mean the Lilly Savage factor ?

I have to say that I much prefer that colour of frame. Goes much better with the cam cover colour.

Bloody nice ! Personally I think this colour will suit the rest of the bike much better.

After sleeping on it I may change the frame colour.
Personally I think the frame colour takes away from the engineering that has taken place on this bike ! There's one thing for getting noticed but if its all because of rainbow colours then it may be for the wrong reasons ?? For those that know the engineering and build quality it will get all the notice it needs. And with good reason !!

When I engage 1st gear on a cold engine the bike stalls as if the sidestand is down , but I have recently bypassed the switch and checked that 1st gear will engage with the stand down and it does.
So I'm guessing it could be sticking clutch plates, the bike engages gear with no problem when warmed....advice appreciated please.
Had similar with sticking clutch plates. But you should know this as the bike will lurch forward as the rear wheel tries to turn ? If this is the case I've had succes with raising the revs, holding front brake on or putting front wheel against a wall , engaging first and drop the clutch ! Scary but its worked for me.

If you need a side stand or clutch cut out switch, to stop you from dropping your bike, I think the rides skills need some looking at as well as the bike
You'll only do it once and then you will remember next time. We would hope
Just don't turn left !

Hi @Bondymy Mag 4 has the same ailment with the side stand. Did you engineer a solution to yours ??
Lovely tribute build by the way, some great ideas that I may just nick when my own Mag 4 progresses.

No OCD hear am a bit rough & ready most the time but have a good eye as well as been very practical. Your supposed to see more the deeper you look at this bike, its about the frame really but the paint job might blow that out the water lol
the frame colour is a bit bright but easy to tell what it is. Its the red engine parts that take the eye away. But the attention and class is more than evident !

The more I look at this build the more you see the attention to detail !! Sometimes wish I had the same discipline , or is that OCD ? This breather hose has more thought than most of my bike !!

I didn't know that! - that pretty much rules that solution out LOL!
I have a feeling that this project is going to need many many more solutions !

Its just the way the seat sits perched on its rails with no tank or side panels. Still looking forward to seeing the bike in the flesh sometime hopefully.

That is looking good almost complete and ready to press the starter button !? Hope it looks better with the tank on but that seat looks like it came off one of your tractors in the background !!

Don't really understand all the arguments ! Most bikes are a compromise. I would Fuckin love that bike in my garage !!! Wouldn't bother me which colour scheme. And as I understand it MARTEK are back in to building bike frames rather than rally cars.

I like the KOSO clocks/gauges , not cheap but fully inclusive kit.

Never really hankered over a turbo engined bike but having read a lot of the posts on here they seem to make sense now. In the early years it seemed like a lot of expense for something that would only last for a couple of drag strip runs, if you was lucky !! But now. INSPIRATION ....................lots of examples of reliable turbo bikes being used daily.
Seriously thinking of a turbo on the Harris now.

The fabled "very safe place" ! If only I could find mine then I wouldn't need to keep buying stuff I know I have !!
Great attention to detail on this build ! Would love to see it in the flesh at some point. Puts my Mag 4 refresh to shame.

It all depends on if the Q plate v5 has a declared year of manufacture on it, if it does then legally it must comply to the standards applicable to that year, if it doesnt its treated as pre 71 regs.
However for getting an MOT its treated 1975 emossions, and 1971 for everything else iirc.
So it will go through an MOT but isnt legal
Had it with my old Harris because it had a declared year i couldnt run black and silver plate and had to have indicators.
Just to add to the debate a bit. I have a Mag 4 on a Q plate that shows Date of 1st registration as May 1993 on the V5. I don't run any indicators and have never been pulled on this at MOT time for not having indicators. Seems like its at the testers discretion, or how well you know/get on with the tester , OR whether the tester is fully aware of the intricacies of rules ? Minefield !!
I was told that if indicators are fitted then they have to be working but this was many years ago and may not be valid advice now.

Will that pass a MOT Clive, I'm sure there was something about indicators and rear light combined, can't remember what it was though
Had a similar one on a bike of mine that the MOT tester wouldn't pass. Had to refit some separate indicators.

Glad you like it as that must have been a hard decision to strip the bike down and get it re-coated. But it has been worth it, IMHO.
