martyngsxr Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 Okay done the rewire on the project 750 refitted the carbs and it fired which I was shocked at as my wiring skills aren't the best but it's reving it nuts off so took the carbs back off and checked things. Now im not to sure but should there be a spring either side of the plate Quote
Lachie04 Posted June 28, 2018 Posted June 28, 2018 (edited) Just the ones on either side of the adjusting screw, check for air leaks and catching throttle, visual sync the butterflies to the first air hole I would think the spring that's missing would be there to stop the screw moving Edited June 28, 2018 by Lachie04 Quote
stellafella Posted June 28, 2018 Posted June 28, 2018 They're the balance springs for tuning up you carbs, sync 1+2 together, with the adjustment screw, then 3+4 together with that adjustment screw. Then match your two sets of sync carbs with the middle adjustment screw, they all need springs above and below the plate Quote
martyngsxr Posted June 28, 2018 Author Posted June 28, 2018 This is the middle adjustment screw Quote
martyngsxr Posted June 28, 2018 Author Posted June 28, 2018 I was thinking air leaks as well I was running it open carbs got a replacement spring and some replacement orings for the top hats on the carbs going to replace these bits visually check the carbs and then try again Quote
stellafella Posted June 28, 2018 Posted June 28, 2018 The little o rings on the vacuum takeoffs under the lid and the little o rings behind the spring/ washer on the pilots are good ones to check, also the o rings behind the inlet boots. Quote
Blue Posted June 28, 2018 Posted June 28, 2018 & the o ring on the bottom of the slides, just replaced all my o rings & float gaskets using https://www.litetek.co/Carb_Kit_Suzuki_GSXR750_91_M.html I was shocked how bad they were, good job my Dyno got cancelled Quote
martyngsxr Posted June 29, 2018 Author Posted June 29, 2018 Did a quick bench sync and put the carbs back on running open carbs at the moment a bit of a pig to start but it finally started with a bit of brake cleaner as easystart now do I keep the original airbox or run pod filters Quote
