GSX750 Inazuma tank replacement

Ive got a 1999 GSX750. Looks cool. But the tank is leaking. written off my paintwork.

I worked hard on the tank with sealant and soldering and plating.

But I failed. It was too far gone, and I hadn't realised.

Ive had a look online and there is only one GSX tank in the whole world for sale, and the guy wants an arm and a leg for it.

Is there any other tank from the same family that I can fit that will do till I get a proper replacement?

In the meantime here is the bike, before it started leaking all over....

Known problem for the Inazuma, the one I used to have had a new tank on it.

To my knowledge the only bike with a tank like this is the 750 and 1200 Inazuma.

How far gone is the tank? maybe a welder can fix it for you?

I did plan on cutting the bottom out of my mates and building a mould and making a inner tank, but we never got round to it, he got pissed off and sold it and bought a harley xD

As  'Peterrr' mentioned, the tanks are a weak point on these bikes. I read somewhere that using a pressure washer in the vicinity of the filler cap may be partly to blame. Personally, I would take a ride out to a well-stocked breakers, and ask if you could try a few of their tanks to see if anything fits. You can still buy new but obviously, they're very pricey!.

Nice Geiger-inspired paint BTW (y)
