Gixer1460 Posted June 2, 2018 Posted June 2, 2018 Dunno how different the 88 is to the 89-91 but my Suzuki workshop manual for the later bike says the battery and the battery holder has to be removed to access the 4 screws holding the filter in. I know removing the whole airbox is a major operation but doesn't need the carbs to be removed so a filter should be a minor job - Ho Ho Ho! Quote
Captain Chaos Posted June 2, 2018 Posted June 2, 2018 yes, remove battery + battery tray. A lot of work but still better than removing the carbs. Quote
philwright Posted June 2, 2018 Author Posted June 2, 2018 Thanks lads, job done, what sort of difference if any will a new filter make?, the one I took out looks like it had been in there since the bike was new!....also fitted a new set of plugs...just about to go out for a test ride. Quote
Gixer1460 Posted June 2, 2018 Posted June 2, 2018 Well it should carburate correctly and maybe slightly better fuel mileage! 1 Quote
