Mole28 Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Can anyone tell me the spring rate for the rear shock on a Harris Magnum 2? It has a proper monoshock as opposed to a rising rate setup so presumably the spring rate will be a lot stiffer. We took our endurance bike out for its first run today and apart from some teething problems it was lovely albeit a bit wallowy. 5 Quote
Mole28 Posted April 24, 2018 Author Posted April 24, 2018 I saw that this had been moved to trick frames. I re-posted it in members projects for a wider audience. My bad as the kids say. Quote
Swiss Toni Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Give Harris a bell in the morning. They should be able to tell you straight away. Quote
dupersunc Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Good to meet you today @Mole28. The bike looks and sounds stunning. Not sure how close your set up is to the original Harris swing arm. You'll need to know the motion ratio of the rear suspension. Wheel travel v shock travel. A small difference here can have quite an effect in spring rate. once you know that give Harris or Maxton a call, they'll be able to advise 1 Quote
Mole28 Posted April 24, 2018 Author Posted April 24, 2018 Yeah, good to meet you too. I'll get everything measured up and make some calls. I was just looking for a ballpark rate for the spring as ours is definitely undersprung. Quote
clivegto Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 (edited) Bike looks great, is that a b12 adapted swinging arm ? More pics please. Don't know the standard spring rate but this is the EMC shock that came with my mag 2. Edited April 24, 2018 by clivegto 1 Quote
nlovien Posted April 25, 2018 Posted April 25, 2018 have a chat with John Neate or his sons - ok not everyone is in support of their choice of engine but they do know a thing or two about setting up these frames / suspension Last year they made an improvement by fitting a longer swing arm - hence a chat 1 Quote
