Sheep Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 Peeps...have any of you recommendations on what rate of springs I should get for my K1 forked EFE...The current ones are too soft for my liking as it compresses way too much on hard braking.. The springs come in rates starting from 8.5 up to 10.5.... What do you guys use? Quote
Sheep Posted December 17, 2017 Author Posted December 17, 2017 Yeh,they do say on the website tell them some info of your bike but I was really after some opinions on peeps who already use them, just to get a feel about how they perform I am going to contact them in the week also. 1 Quote
homer Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 What springs K1 forks have? 9.5kg? I would go 1kg to stiffer. Efe is quite heavy on the front. Quote
dupersunc Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 Look up the racetech website. That will give the stock spring rates and advise on suitable rates for your application. Stock gsxr1000 k1 has 8.5 springs.9.5 would be a good start.5 Quote
markfoggy Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 Well static sag on what you have in there will tell you a lot. You want 30mm with no preload wound in and then be able to get to 25 with the preload adjusters wound in about half way. As a general rule of thumb 0.5 increase in spring rate will move the sag about 5mm. 9.5 is a good number for a lot of things, it should work. Best bit though is if you buy 9.5 and it is a little heavy, you can pull one spring back out and replace with the original and land on 9.0. 1 Quote
