K1 1000 headers on a GSXR11K

I`m currently running a full Micron system on the 11K, but one of the four into two section pipes has a large dent in it so needs repairing.

Another option would be to use the GSXR 1000 K1 headers ?

I know they are reputed to "Fit" , but has anyone fitted them and can say how much work was involved ? ( I have limited shed time and want the bike running for 2018 !)

If it involves major surgery and welding I`m unlikely to ever get round to it, if its a bit of tweak here and there and making a few brackets then that would be an option for me.

I`ve got a selection of end cans up in the loft so probably have something suitable if the Micron one isn't.

Just violence and brute force can get them to fit. A little heat helps.

When I fitted a set to a bandit engine I bolted them up and used a trolley jack to compress them a little closser to the engine.

As above , brute force , had to spread the headers a little bit to get to fit, easy enough.   I found that they hung a bit low for my taste, so trolley jack and plumbers torch to warm em up underneath,  left until cool. Still sprung back a bit ,but not as bad as before

You need a lot of heat and on all 4 pipes at the same time to get the Ti tubes to bend and stay bent.  I did it but took it off as I was concerned about the stresses causing problems on a racing machine.

I've got and been running a set on the oilcooled Kat for about 3 years.

A bit of brut force to spread the downpipes to fit, but that's all I did. Heat will help but not needed for the downpipes but you would need it if you where pushing the pipes up more to the sump but I've not had a problem not doing so.
