Pd1987 Posted July 27, 2015 Share Posted July 27, 2015 So I was advised on here not too long ago that the 38mm carbs from an L model are too big to run on my slabby 750, now I'm a little confused because these originally came on a 750 slingshot so why would they be too big as they flow to much is what I was told? Gixer1460 Posted July 27, 2015 Share Posted July 27, 2015 The 38mm carbs were fitted with an additional 'PowerJet system' so the fueling could keep up when spinning the motor between 10 - 13,000rpmAs most won't ever go near those revs 'day 2 day' they could be described as over carb'd - work good on 1100's though! Pd1987 Posted July 27, 2015 Author Share Posted July 27, 2015 Didn't seem to want to run correctly and was a struggle to start with ram air filters and a micron exhaust system, so this is what has led me to believe they are too big for the motor Quote Link to comment

metallicaman Posted July 27, 2015 Share Posted July 27, 2015 And always a PITA to set up without the airbox..Try blocking the powerjet inlets in the carb mouth, don't use anything permanent but I have done this previously on 38's when running open filters with some success in better running.. 1 Quote Link to comment
