CockneyRick Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 So the wheel is a 5.5x17 & i have put a busa (6x17) in the drag bike but it's too far off centre. So can anyone tell me the measurement across the hub, from the sprocket seat face through to the outer edge of disc on other side? Busa is 8" so i need smaller. I know the K series is bigger, just need a 5.5 or 6" wheel to go in with more space to centre it. Could be 600/TL or any other with straight spokes? Quote
Swirl Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Is this srad, sure i have a 5.5" 750w wheel somewhere 1 Quote
Madb Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 if no one has answered before i leave the pool hall, I'll measure up later. may be late tho. 1 Quote

CockneyRick Posted July 7, 2017 Author Posted July 7, 2017 As said, more interested in the hub width, as the wheel size can be 6" & still be smaller than a 5.5" wheel hub! Quote
Madb Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 ok. as i have two wheels sitting here, one 5.5inch off a k1 600 and a 5.5 srad 600. k1 is 195mm from outer disc to the outer left side of the hub and the srad 600 hub is 170mm wide without a disc. no sprocket carrier for either wheel. dont know if that helps, chap but it seem srad hub is defo narrower even tho the centre protrudes further out on sprocket side of the srad wheel, the k1 wheel sprocket side recesses aprox 5mm inwards. CockneyRick Posted July 8, 2017 Author Posted July 8, 2017 So from leading edge of Cush hub thru to disc is 195mm K, & 170mm Srad? Did the 170 include that sticky out bit on disc side? Quote
CockneyRick Posted July 8, 2017 Author Posted July 8, 2017 And would that mean all Srad rear wheels are the same? 5.5x17? Quote
CockneyRick Posted July 8, 2017 Author Posted July 8, 2017 (edited) Re measured without cush drive & Busa is 165mm. So hub is virtually same as Srad. Only help is wheel width & the hope that the carrier is shallower? When i did mine on the Yosh, i had to machine down the Busa carrier to help centre that one! Before & after. Still a close fit tho! Edited July 8, 2017 by Madb edit it. spelling really tho. Quote
CockneyRick Posted July 9, 2017 Author Posted July 9, 2017 156? earlier you said 170 without disc? Which prob only adds 3-4mm anyway! Quote
CockneyRick Posted July 9, 2017 Author Posted July 9, 2017 (edited) I just need a wheeel to fit in this swinger! got 238mm between arms, & any rim that'll take a 180/17 tyre will do. Pref straight spoke, but i think that's never gonna happen Also has been modded to take a 25mm spindle Edited July 9, 2017 by CockneyRick Quote

Madb Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 (edited) oh and the bit that sticks out is on the sprocket side of srad wheel Edited July 9, 2017 by Madb auto spell edit. 1 Quote
CockneyRick Posted July 10, 2017 Author Posted July 10, 2017 Looks like i'm heading toward a Slingy wheel, many moons ago i did 2 Slabby 7 & 11 wheel conversions to Slingy. So just gotta trawl the memory to figure wot i did to fit em in the swinger! Quote
Madb Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 i see your problem now! srad 750 swingarm had 265mm inner space. thats a narrow arm you have, sir. just measured an srad hub(been told it's an srad hub so stand correted if it's not). thats 65mm deep + the wheel hub 156mm= 5mm for disc. not much room for a calipar hanger but maybe do-able? Quote
Swirl Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 I measured mine before as well madb 156mm + disc, didnt measure the cush Quote
CockneyRick Posted July 10, 2017 Author Posted July 10, 2017 Hmm 226mm + the hanger & spacers, a spare 12mm, looks like it's def Slingy wheel then Quote
CockneyRick Posted July 11, 2017 Author Posted July 11, 2017 Well front end is Srad with str8 spokes, so was hoping for a match. Slingy will have to do then Quote
