CockneyRick Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 1127 Teapot lump, went to trial fit the gear linkage & the shaft moves in & out by about 1cm! When pulled out the outer circlip sits this far from the casing hole but can engage gears. If i push it in so the circlip sits up agains't the seal, then it won't select gears! Certainly don't feel right to me? Any ideas peeps, as if it moved in while moving, i'd lose the ability to change gear! Quote
dupersunc Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 The only thing that can cause that is if the circlip isn't located it's grove properly. circlip grove is 47mm from the end of the shaft. Quote
CockneyRick Posted June 4, 2017 Author Posted June 4, 2017 I will check tomorrow, just assumed it already was! It appears to have some kinda washer, i guess the seal is behind that? Cataracts mean i cant see shit!!! Quote
CockneyRick Posted June 5, 2017 Author Posted June 5, 2017 (edited) Def wasn't locaated! However, shaft won't come out far enough now to put a new circlip on, any suggestions? And i can't engage any gears either? Edited June 5, 2017 by CockneyRick Quote

dupersunc Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 You can see the 2 tangs on the return spring (on the back of the toothed part of the selector shaft). They should go either side of the pin on the casing, they are currently both below it. Locate the spring correctly and you'll be good. Quote
CockneyRick Posted June 7, 2017 Author Posted June 7, 2017 got the basket off to make things easier! Just shoved it in as you see it, so not guaranteed right place? Quote
CockneyRick Posted June 7, 2017 Author Posted June 7, 2017 Having done a root about, i believe this is the way to realign it, every point centred! Can anyone confirm so i can put it all back together? 2 Quote
