philwright Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 (edited) Hi all,it might seem a silly question to those with loads of experience of these bikes but i've been searching the net for info on whether any exhaust headers/systems from later models (Srad maybe ?) and maybe Bandit models will fit my 1988 750j slingshot,i cant seem to find anything useful though. Can anyone on here point me in the right direction please? Thanks for any advice...Phil. Edited May 20, 2017 by philwright typo Quote
Rene EFE Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 All exhaust off of the 1127/1157(Bandit) will fit but sit fairly low to the ground, due to the bigger motor being higher. K1 1000 headers will fit the 1100, so also the 750. Again, these will sit (very) low. SRAD750 will fit too, with some persuasion Quote
philwright Posted May 26, 2017 Author Posted May 26, 2017 Thanks for that, I thought others would fit but didn't want to go splashing cash without being sure. Quote
Damienga15de Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 Will the K1 headers sit too low to fit the fairings on a 91 M 750? Quote

I had a 750m with an 1127 motor and K1 headers. The exhaust fouled the belly pan after the collectors. I bit of minor trimming sorted that. A 750 motor will cause a much bigger clearance problem Quote
Damienga15de Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 I can get the manifold for 80 euro so Imuch not too fussed if I have to modify it a bit I'd it's after the collectors Quote
philwright Posted August 12, 2017 Author Posted August 12, 2017 Just acquired a set of headers off a 750 Srad for peanuts, what sort of problems will I encounter fitting them to my 88J ?...i'm told they should fit with a bit of persuasion!. Quote
Rene EFE Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 Pretty much 0, afaik. @Del managed to fit one that looks like it's made for it, so this again opens a world of possibilities. 1 Quote
Del Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 We fitted srad 750 micron headers/link pipe to a powerscreen 1127cc engine in an 86 1100g. They would leave a gap if fitted to a short stokes, but should fit okay(unless, see my next post) ☺️ Quote
Del Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 (edited) The only time they won't fit without modification,is when they have header balance pipes(like in the picture),these hit the frame down tubes on the slabbies/slingshots ☺️ Edited October 22, 2017 by Del Quote
Del Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 (edited) This is a gsxr1100k-n hindle headers on a short stroke 748cc teapot motor ☺️ Edited October 22, 2017 by Del Quote

There is only a few mm difference in height. This is my old gsxr1100k with a 90 gsxr750l micron 4-1 system. All I had to do,was shave a bit off of the sump plug ☺️ As can be seen in the pics, rod length difference is only 7.5mm. Edited October 22, 2017 by Del Quote
Del Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Gsx1400 high level 4-2-2 system on my old 1100k ☺️ Quote
Del Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Gsx1100efe Marshall 4-1 headers. When fitting air cooled systems, you need to remove some meat on the headers because of the smaller oil-cooled exhaust ports. ☺️ Quote

Del Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 And this is the gsxr1000k2 headers underneath 750 full bodywork. Just needed to trim the rear of the bellypan☺️ Quote
Del Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 And the gsxr1000k2 headers with CCC 1000k5 link pipe and micron can ☺️ Quote
