spondonturbo Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Looking to put a bandit 1200 arm in to a kat 1100 SD frame. Want to do it as a twin shock as I dont want to chop the frame and want to keep it sort of old skool. How hard / easy is it? and who makes the bottom shock mounts that need to be welded on to the swingarm? Any advice / pitfalls appreciated Quote
cam Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Lucky seven on Facebook does the shock mounts and the top hats for the spindle 1 Quote
gsx Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Mine cost 100 quid at a local engineering firm including the alloy welding , drew up the shock mounts to take original suzuki bushes . 1 Quote

kiwi Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Chris if you look here Rob explains how easy it is and the problems you come across http://www.suzuki-katana.com/katana_suspension.html and on this page it shows the swingarm bushes and the lower shock brackets http://www.parts.suzuki-katana.com/ at least you can see and know the pro's and con's Quote

Also Steve Adams ran silly short k series forks which is fine but if you don't . . Jack up the arse end or it won't handle Quote
spondonturbo Posted July 12, 2015 Author Posted July 12, 2015 Thanks guys, not read it all yet, but looks like great info. I have some GSXR1100 forks, but am using them for a different more modified build. I assume bandit 1200 forks would be the best right way up forks / front end to use? Quote
kiwi Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 gsx take this which ever way you choose but what experience have you got with riding Katana's with modified suspension fitted ?? Quote

A twin shock kat with bandit arm and water cooled 11 forks , brand new hagon shocks at standard 330 centres that were kindly exchanged for 365 mm by same .Rebuild the lot into 750 frame that me and a mate monoshocked to get the desired ride height . . . spondonturbo Posted July 12, 2015 Author Posted July 12, 2015 funnily enough the other kat project is going monoshock with USD front end. Got a GSXR arm for that one and the 1100L forks so far. So has anyone used bandit arm and front end together? Quote
