Reelinfeele Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 Hey all, I swapped my ed front end for a bandit 1200 with 4 pot nissin. Problem I am having is rattling of the brake pads. I bought new suzuki pad springs, but 1000 miles in and the pads a rattling. I suppose I could bend the spring, but I'm sure that won't last long. Any tips? Quote
kitkatman Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Just a guess but is there supposed to be a shim between piston and caliper ?. Quote
dago Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 (edited) are you sure it's the pads and not the disc bobbins? you could also try new pins ,no shim shown on parts between pads & piston Edited April 11, 2016 by dago 1 Quote
wraith Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Agreement with the above, disc bobbins or pins. Grab the disc (where the pads sweep) and see if their is any movement. Quote
Reelinfeele Posted April 12, 2016 Author Posted April 12, 2016 Not the discs, definitely the pads. I don't have the pad shims. Guess I should try that. EBC pads currently installed. Quote
Rossco(Iceman Josros) Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 I can't understand why the pads would rattle .... Are you getting a spungy brake lever ?? Quote
Reelinfeele Posted April 17, 2016 Author Posted April 17, 2016 No spongy. Have bled them. Brakes work great. Quote
