  1. Hay all, may have stumbled into a very good condition water cooled 1100. I do not know too much about these. What should I look for? Major issues? Wait for an oil cooled bike? I know they have to be heavier, but my plan is an old school streetfighter build... Thank you...

  3. Going with locktite 263. High strength oil tolerant and temps to 360f.
  4. Man, I have cleaned this so well in the past. The red says its has to be heated to 500f to be removed. I wonder if the crank gets that hot. Its in an oil bath. Going to try some Gurls blouse green. I hear it's almost permanent.
  5. Had the starter clutch bolts loosen up on me. Again. Been using red lock tite. Obviously not good enough... Suggestions?

  7. How much oil should I have in an 1100e? Book says 3200cc. I never see any oil in the window.
  8. This was a larger cooler. 13 row. About 40% more volume than than the lockart I had on there. The curved will give me some clearance and more surface area. I'm hoping 5f to 10f in city riding.
  9. So, I finally rigged up a bracket for a curved oil cooler. Bought it without checking for a mount. Little backyard and beer engineering.
  10. Found it!!!! Coming out of the bolt at 9 oclock. The one that goes into the upper part of the lower case. I cleaned it and just let it run until it got hot, then got a flow from the bolt. Added a sealing washer that are used on the valve cover.. that did not work. Took bolt out and put some yamabond on the first 5mm behind the head, screwe'd it back in. Will check it tomorrow.....

  12. Hay all, here's the deal. My 1100e has had a oil leak at the bottom rear of the clutch cover for probably 18 gasket changes. Stock gaskets, vesrah gaskets, cometic gaskets. I've used yamabond and black rtv. Done exactly what the manual says about the 50mm of gasket sealer at the case halves. Done sealer all the way around both sides of gasket. Literally have tried everything. Ride for 15 miles, bam, seeping front the bottom rear near brake pedal. Almost seams like it's coming through the cover bolts. Has a Barnett clutch kit and Barnett springs. Anyone dealt with this before????
  13. Anyone using this carb setup? Sprays the fuel through the needle. Instead of around the needle.
  14. Hey all, what's the difference between 1075 blocks and 1074 blocks? I can't find any info anywhere. The 1075 block seems to measure about .005 taller. TIA
  15. Hey all, my mikuni/motion pro push pull throttle setup is bagged. Looking for suggestions on another set up. This one only has 2k miles on it. Running rs36"s. The tube is worn out on push side and yet he cables seem to long anyway. Was looking at the Rev2 setup, but can't find info on cable lentghs. So I am not sure which one to get. Thanks!
  16. Mine are on spacers that raise them up away from the engine using the stock mounting point. Some grinding is necessary for plug wires to fit.
  17. I'm having almost the same issue. 1170 motor, fresh. I tried the 15 pilots, it leaned it out alright, but I had 3 turns out on the screws. Ran very shit ty below 1/4 throttle. 127.5 mains needle in center. I put the 17.5 pilots back in, about 1 turn out. Synched the carbs Damn near perfect. Still runs very rough 1/4 throttle. Motor has about 1000 miles on it now. The oil burnout has subsided for me. No head work, just all new valves and cleaned up. I get a slight pinging at load on low throttle. Very slight. I may take some timing out of it. I would be interested to what you come up with. I am at sea level approximately 70' F. Good luck.

  20. Hey all, my ED is back up and running with the 36 flatslides. Anyone else running 1170 wiseco with rs36's? I am running 125 mains, needles in middle and pilot screw at about 3/4 out. Bike still seems to stumble at part throttle. Carbs were purchased new, I only switched down to the 125's. Floats at 17mm. Also running 50mm stacks with ram air filters I am pretty sure I have the acceleration pimp set right, 1/4 throttle on 3/4throttle off. Runs awesome after the initial 1/8 the trottle. Plugs have good color. I am at sea level. Looking to see where you might be.
