canamant
Does anyone know what fuel taps from other bikes will fit 1100 L tanks. 45mm centres on holes. Must be an on /off tap not a vac tap. Heard R6 taps might fit and are just on/off. Racing use only and don't want to spend a fortune so no Pingel suggsetions please :-) Quote Link to comment
Bluemurder
are Pingel taps no good, or is it just the price - good enough reason! Quote Link to comment
370steve
its easy to disable the vacuum function! Quote Link to comment
canamant
They run on a springy thing and a diaphragm and the metal parts are all worn For racing it's just something else to go wrong. Start up checklist always involves "Fuel ON" ! Quote Link to comment

canamant
I have made an adapter from a piece of aluminium plate which bolts on to the tank and fitted a simple on/off valve designed for gasses and solvents. Not tried it yet though. Quote Link to comment

coombehouse
I used a washing machine tap 30 years ago for the same thing. Leaked after a while but did the job. The gas taps might last bit better but modern fuel is evil stuff. Quote Link to comment
