I don't know really  , but seem to recall 3-5ohm being favoured ,but that's where I ended up Dyna .s with 5ohm coils big fat sparks that still crack like an aircraft ignitor with less juice, but you get the less drain on bikes system , if your genny is just putting out enough to run, then you plumb for 3ohms more strain, fine for racing etc. so 5ohms are less of a  drain on charging .

So stock coils are also 5 ohms just for ref,
