What are you using for the rest of the ignition system? Original early points GS1000 setup?

just bought gs 1000 coils , the bike has a dyna instead of points . not collected bike yet

I have used gsxr before and had a set of cbr1000f on one of my gs1000 for years.

I used 5ohm gsxr style, new from my buddy Marcus at rexes speed shop. They were same output as the sometimes fragile Dyna coils, As Dyna ignition installation says it needs 5ohm coils to get best out of it.

I thought the 2.2 Ohm coils could only be used with the Dyna 2000 ignition.

and the 3 Ohm coils for the Dyna S ignition.

So where do 5 Ohm coils come in ?

I don't know really  , but seem to recall 3-5ohm being favoured ,but that's where I ended up Dyna .s with 5ohm coils big fat sparks that still crack like an aircraft ignitor with less juice, but you get the less drain on bikes system , if your genny is just putting out enough to run, then you plumb for 3ohms more strain, fine for racing etc. so 5ohms are less of a  drain on charging .

So stock coils are also 5 ohms just for ref,
