Allspeeds Posted January 11 Author Posted January 11 Polishing complete back with me Wednesday so fingers crossed she will be a rolling bye next weekend going to chase up my seat from king carbon to and a carbon front mudgaurd is on route aswell still will need to pick a rear caliper to use but want to see what I can fit in once rolling 1 Quote
Allspeeds Posted January 16 Author Posted January 16 (edited) Well if you said it would take me 2 hours to put a swingarm n my Harris I would have laughed you out the room …. Normally so when I stripped the Harris the swingarm when removing was tight nothing mental but needed a helping hand to knock out the frame ie with pin already removed on inspection the bearing washers were a mess I thought no worries new ones of then jobs a good un fast forward to today came to slip swing arm in and sure enough she did not want to go now yes the new seals are genuine Suzuki and of better quality than what was there but at best we’re talking 1 mm greater in width so after all the usual means tried I had to get heavy and using a bottle jack stretch the frame now before you all gasp I’m talking 1-2mm tops not 5 mm!!! Problem is as you know you have to go past what you want as it springs back que block of wood between rear engine mounts to hold it wile I fitted arm anyway after 2 goes I got and it a bang on tight but not to tight fit because as you know the Harris has no means of adjusting end float or even a conventional threaded pin and nut to tighten it essentially just floats on a pin relying on the fit between frame to be tight Edited January 16 by Allspeeds Picture upside down 2 Quote
DAZ Posted January 16 Posted January 16 That polished alloy SO sets off that Cadbury purple frame , such an excellent choice Quote
Allspeeds Posted January 16 Author Posted January 16 Don’t know why pics are upside down il try again Quote
Allspeeds Posted January 16 Author Posted January 16 Now to top that stress off there should of been 2 boxes of polishing however one box is currently sat in a depo in Leeds containing my front end in bits so hopefully that will turn up tomorrow then il be able to get her rolling did have to order a headbearing seal anyway as the ones I’ve got arnt correct so to be fair it’s not held me back till tomorrow anyway the rear sets are for sale I’ve built them after polishing and mounted them just to keep them safe but I have some cumin from RCD in February 1 Quote
Allspeeds Posted January 17 Author Posted January 17 Sat sulking unfortunately FedEx didn’t deliver missing box today however to be fair my local driver called in a personally rang the depot and can confirm it is there and will be here Monday so that’s a relief did do two small jobs had to take 0.8mm of lower shock bush as it was to tight and 12mm of lower shock bolt as it had to much excess thread showing looks tidy now 3 Quote
Allspeeds Posted January 17 Author Posted January 17 Does any other mag 2 owner out there run seals on there head bearings it didn’t have any when stripped which I thought was just shit assembly however after a long chat with simply bearings and a few days of hunting and even ordering a genuine lower headbearing for a 750l/m which has seal made on it seams for these particular bearings 30205 there isn’t any seals available that fit?? When I first got my Turbo Harris out for a test ride it handeled like a bag of shit. Turned out the bottom dust seal was just to say touching the frame, ones It was removed all was well I just packed it with a lot of grease to stop any dust getting in. A popular mod was to fit a grease nipple to the head stock to fill it with grease presumably for this reason. My second Harris has this mod Quote
Allspeeds Posted January 17 Author Posted January 17 Interesting Clive I would say probably because from what I’m finding there isn’t such thing as a correct size seal well least I know it NORMAL not to run seals now although il try come up with something for the top one Quote

Allspeeds Posted January 20 Author Posted January 20 Bit of progress not much but progress all the same it had billet shock canisters holders but they were to small for Maxton had them machined out to 52mm then had to counter sink mounting holes to make mount bolt clear again re polished I tried using two but it looked to much with shorter Maxton cylinder so opted for just the one 9 Quote
Allspeeds Posted January 21 Author Posted January 21 Day 7 of still no front end continues I’ve never known anything like it I’m off for a beer 1 Quote
