Allspeeds Posted December 22, 2024 Author Posted December 22, 2024 Simply bearings have a dead easy system you just fire your desired sizes in and its lists what’s available Quote

Allspeeds Posted December 24, 2024 Author Posted December 24, 2024 Christmas Eve treat new engine spacers/mounts from a friend with slots cut in to retain grease when fitted and spun, no more siezed mounts for me 2 Quote
Allspeeds Posted December 24, 2024 Author Posted December 24, 2024 It’s so obvious it’s a wonder why Harris didn’t Quote
Dezza Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 I find smearing the alloy mounts with copperslip prior to fitting into the frame prevents seizure 1 Quote
Allspeeds Posted December 27, 2024 Author Posted December 27, 2024 Yes definitely but my thought was the groves allow you to fill them with grease then as push them through spin them this leaves a cote of grease between the two faces rather than it just being pushed out as it’s such a tight tolerance Quote
Allspeeds Posted January 3 Author Posted January 3 Industrial epoxy black normal used to seal magnesium wheels etc 2 coats only max 1 Quote
Allspeeds Posted January 3 Author Posted January 3 Pair these two colours together should go nice with the purple I like the trick bits yoshi do for this engine in there bronze kit colour those as a few accents might go well aswell 3 Quote
Allspeeds Posted January 3 Author Posted January 3 New ultrasonic is here so hopefully fresh fluid will follow early next week next job with be to clean and make one gear box out of two I think then clean all selectors etc dig out all hardware to have zinc plated black olive external and silver for internal bits as previously said I have a new crank in place if I could have most bottom end things prepared for February ready to assemble I’d be happy Quote
Allspeeds Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 New ultrasonic cleaner came after my old one died and new fluid I wanted to try used my own carbs before using on customers I literally chucked them in no pre wash which I normally would or strip dow just wanted to see its strength and check it was effecting any parts happy to say these flat slides are in very nice condition might use them although they seem very sought after so mite sell and buy new 36/38RS 2 Quote
SiBag Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Impressive results, what solution are you using in the fizzy bath? Or is it a trade secret. Quote
Allspeeds Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 Very good but aggressive don’t go mad with heat 40deg for me but can black brass parts Quote
Allspeeds Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 Tried this for first time today seems ok 50 deg 1:10 ratio this stuff has more a washing up liquid viscosity as ware as the other stuff is liquid tank time was about an hour to clean external and same again internal however seems nice and gentle on brass and rubbers no dis colouring 1 Quote
Allspeeds Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 I would normally de grease prior to going in cleaner to make fluid last longer and can sometimes shorten time needed in n tank but I wanted to see how the fluid worked for n grease grime and general matter Quote
Allspeeds Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 After cleaning I always dunk/rinse in water with a small amount of soap or bike cleaner in 1 Quote
Allspeeds Posted January 7 Author Posted January 7 Little teaser from main man Jeff Mushty bloke can do a good job that’s for sure dirty work but he loves it 4 Quote
